Suggestions for Articles

What kind of articles are needed?
Just about any related to sailing. Suggestion: write about something you personally experienced.

Who can submit an article? Anyone.

How long should an article be?
As long, or short, as you wish. There is no minimum or maximum. Suggestion: Break a long article into sections of a few paragraphs each, to make it easier for the reader to scan for items of interest.

I'm a new sailor, what can I possibly have to say that would interest others?
A lot. Articles about where you sail are always of interest. Things you've learned or new experiences on the water can make a very interesting article. There are a lot of us that have been sailing for years and still consider ourselves new. And there a lot of salty sailors that have made the same mistakes as you.

Must every article have photos?
Photos are not required, but they usually add interest.

Can I submit articles from other websites or sailing magazines?
No, all articles must be your original work. You can reference and quote from other articles, as long as proper credit is given.

Will NE-TS edit my article?
We will always look over an article for spelling and punctuation. If you ask us to, we can perform more extensive editing such as grammer checking. Basically, tell us what you want and we'll be happy to comply.

What should I do if I have a question?
Use the contact page.
