Roger Garland

It is with sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Roger B. Garland - stalwart supporter and friend of many of us who sail. From creating and running the New England Trailer Sailor's website, to being an active participant at club events, he will be missed and remembered by many.

Born in Tacoma Park, MD, September 1, 1935, he was the son of Ursula (Feist) and Charles Garland. He lived in Peterborough from 1970 to 1976, at which time he moved to Hancock.

He was a self-employed contractor. In his spare time he enjoyed sailing.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Centrello) Garland of Hancock; a son, Eric Garland of Bowl; a daughter, Cynthia Tarnowski of Acushnet, MA; a brother, Jay Garland of Peterborough; two sisters, Susan Garland of Warren, ME, and Brunie Cochran of Mountain View, CA; one grand child.
