Inner
Mallets Bay:
Launch and First Overnight
Day 1. We arrived at the four-lane state-boat ramp on the eastern shore of Inner Mallet's bay after a six hour drive from Maine. As we approached the ample ramp parking area we spied another 26x. It was Taurus Two rigging in the parking lot.
There was something special about Taurus Two - something that made it stand out over other 26x's we had seen. Modifications. Fore and aft, starting with two large elevated solar panels neatly mounted on posts from the stern.
We quickly fell into awe at what Ed had done with his boat. If we did nothing else the entire trip, it was worth seeing what could be done with a 26x to make it a livable cruiser.
We anchored with
Taurus Two and several other boats in the NW corner of Mallets Bay after
taking a small spin around the outer bay.
