M.O.A.N.E. MEETING – JANUARY 17, 2004
Commodore Bill Brock opened the regularly scheduled meeting at his home in Hudson, NH at 4:30 p.m.

I. MINUTES
MOTION 4.01 – The Commodore called for a motion to approve the minutes of the regularly held October 25, 2003 meeting at the Nashua Country Club.
It was so moved by Tony DiStefano seconded by Barbara Garland.

II. ELECTION OF OFFICERS FOR 2004
MOTION 4.02 – The Commodore called for nominations from the floor and the following members were nominated and unanimously voted in:
Commodore – Bill Brock
Vice Commodore – Ed Goodhue
Rear Commodore – Chad Chadowicz
Cruise Captain/Fleet/Race – Barbara Garland
Treasurer – Paula Crosbie
Webmaster/Historian – Rick Dieffenbach
At-Large – Tony DiStefano, Don Huff
Secretary – John O’Connor
It was also decided to appoint Barbara Garland as the Assistant Webmaster/Historian.
III. DUES FOR 2004
MOTION 4.03 – A discussion took place regarding what membership dues should be for 2004. It was decided to keep the dues at the present $10.00.
It was so moved by Tony DiStefano and seconded by Chuck Crosbie.

IV. TEE SHIRTS
A discussion took place about buying tee shirts for the organization. It was decided to defer any action until more information can be obtained.
V. WHALE AWARD IN HONOR OF ROGER GARLAND
Barbara Garland recommended that a “Whale Award” be created in honor of Roger Garland. The award is as follows:
“This award goes to a sailor who has a garage that Roger could have spent a month playing in and still not found everything. But most like Roger, a sailor who puts his sailing friends first and makes sure they are sailing.”
She also recommended that two awards be presented, one to Steve Silvia and the other to Bill Baines.
MOTION 4.04 – The Commodore asked for a motion to approve Barbara’s recommendations and it was so moved by Ed Goodhue, seconded by Don Huff.

VI. ADJOURNMENT
MOTION 4.05 – Barbara Garland moved the motion, seconded by Dick Roberge to adjourn the meeting.

The Commodore closed the meeting at 5:15 p.m.
SECRETARY’S COMMENTS
The Christmas party that many of the members could not attend in December because of the severe snowstorm was held in conjunction with this meeting. It was good to see so many members again, some coming from a distance. Everyone had a great time and the Brocks were excellent hosts in their beautiful home. There were 20 members in attendance from ME, NH, VT, MA, NY and the following boats were represented:
