Minutes from November 1, 2008 – Barbara Garland made a motion to waive the reading of the minutes, seconded by Harry Sechman and passed by acclamation. They appear on the NETS Website.
Webmaster – Paul Seeberg reminded everyone about the “For Sale” section on the Website. In addition, we still have club flyers and business cards available. Paul will let us know if he hears from the boat show regarding a promo table for NETS.
.
Lake Champlain – Much discussion took place regarding our yearly Lake Champlain rendezvous. As addressed at the last NETS meeting, there is an extended parking issue at the Mallets Bay parking lot. The Colchester police are regulating the lot. The 4th of July is Mallets Bay #1 weekend. In addition this year is the 400th anniversary of Lake Champlain Bob Chase suggested using the ramp at Kilkare State Park in St. Albans. Bill Baines mentioned the Willsboro ramp.
There was also a discussion as to whether we should change the week that we have the rendezvous. Jack Chadowitz thought we should schedule the rendezvous so the 4th is in the middle of our 7-10 days due to traffic and that we should not change the week because that’s when people schedule their vacation. It was then decided that a committee of four; Bill Baines, Bill Brock, Bob Chase and Gerald Noyes would gather and consider all facts in order for the group to make a decision. Paul Seeberg will put the discussion on the Web forum.
2009 Slate of Officers – Commodore Jack announced the nominated slate of officers and asked if there were any more nominations or if there was anyone interested in a position. There were no additional nominations. Tony DiStefano made a motion that the Secretary vote in all the 2009 officers. It was seconded by Bill Baines and passed by acclamation. The 2009 officers are:
Commodore – Jack Chadowitz
Vice Commodore – Allen Hill
Rear Commodore – Harry Sechman
Secretary – Nancy Sechman
Treasurer – Tony DiStefano
Cruise Director – Karen Hill
Webmaster – Paul Seeberg
Members-at-Large – Dan Dobbins, Dan Lacy, Ken Levitt, Barbara Garland
Pay Pal – Tony made a motion that we include Pay Pal as a method for paying membership dues. It would cost an additional $1.00 if one chooses this method.
Burgees – It was decided that burgees would be handed out at rendezvous’ instead of being mailed to new members
Tony DiStefano made a motion at 5:03 P.M. to adjourn the meeting; it was seconded by Ed Goodhue and it passed by acclamation.
Respectfully submitted,
Nancy A. Sechman, Secretary
