Co-operation with other clubs at rendezvous –
New England Multi-Haul Association wants to do more cruising. Ken Levitt, who is the Cruise Director, would like to invite this club to our Lake Champlain rendezvous. Barbara Garland stated that NETS has always encouraged other groups to join us. She reminded us that our name was changed to include all trailerable sailors.
Articles – It was mentioned that we need to have members write more articles for sailing magazines to promote NETS.
Promote – Al Hill suggested we post our rendezvous schedule on NEMA’s website. We will do a link.
Co-operation with Vendors – Between board meetings, the board was asked by Rani and Jack Chadowitz if they could post an announcement of their new Website business and offer a discount to NETS members. Ken Levitt suggested a written set of guidelines regarding vendor advertising. Rani Chadowitz made a motion that Ken write up a draft and Karen Hill seconded it. Rani also mentioned that if a vendor wants to advertise on our Website then they should offer a discount on their product/services.
Tongue Weight Scale – The purchase of a scale was approved a year ago at the December meeting. It was recommended by Rich Clough that we produce a legal disclaimer. Ken Levitt presented the disclaimer today. After much discussion Ed Goodhue made a motion that we rescind the initial vote. Judy Gould seconded it. Nancy Sechman then made a motion that we vote again on whether we should purchase a scale. There was 1 yes, 9 no’s and 2 abstentions.
HolidayParty – Will be held December 6, 2007 at Pam & Bruce Forshay’s in Bedford, NH.
Slate of Officers for 2008 – Rani Chadowitz made a motion to nominate all present officers for another year. It was seconded by Nancy Sechman and passed by acclamation. They are as follows:
Commodore – Jack Chadowitz
Vice Commodore – Allen Hill
Rear Commodore – Harry Sechman
Secretary – Nancy Sechman
Treasurer – Tony DiStefano
Cruise Director – Karen Hill
Webmaster – Paul Seeberg
Members-at-Large – Dan Dobbins, Dan Lacy, Ken Levitt, Barbara Garland
The Commodore needs to ask if there is anyone who would like to hold a position on the board at the December meeting (held before the Christmas Party), where the slate of officers will be voted on
Correspondence: Karen Hill reported that we received a “thank you” from Bob the Harbormaster at Scituate Harbor for hosting a rendezvous in his harbor.
Allen Harbor – Harry Sechman shared that we got a favorable response to the barbecue that was held on Friday night at the Allen Harbor II rendezvous. Plans are underway for a repeat performance.
Lake Champlain – Dan Lacy spoke with Mike Wichizowski of Vermont’s Fish & Wildlife who told him that the state is now enforcing a 72 hour limit for car and trailer parking in the parking lot at Mallet’s Bay. Also, sleeping on your boat is not allowed. However, he did say he could probably help us find parking any weekend but the week that involves the 4th of July. A discussion on changing the Lake Champlain week. Possible suggestions for 2009: June 24th – July 2nd, July 6th – July 13th or July 10th – 19th.
Harry Sechman made a motion at 2:20 P.M. to adjourn the meeting; it was seconded by Ed Goodhue and it passed by acclamation.
Respectfully submitted,
Nancy A. Sechman, Secretary
