Ramp Report - Alton Bay NH - Town Ramp

Town of Alton Bay Boat Ramp

Location: Alton Bay, NH

Body of Water: Alton Bay, Lake Winnipesaukee

Facility Description: Public waterfront park, parking lot, docks and launch ramp, swim area. Busy parking lot, no onshore rigging area. Backing approach to ramp requires 90 degree turn. Public restrooms nearby. Off-site trailer parking.

Ramp Description: Paved approach is approx. 50’ long & 18’ wide of moderate slope. Ramp is concrete slab. Drive-on / drive-off required, as there is no launch dock. There is a small loading dock parallel with the shore next to the ramp. Public docks are 200 feet away on other side of restaurant. Challenges include possible crosswinds, no current.

Launch fee: FREE

Trailer Parking: Turn Left out of parking lot onto Rt. 11 East, converge with Rt. 28A heading south. At .75 mile, turn Right onto “Letter S Rd.” Continue another .26 mile to boat trailer parking on right side of road, across from Alton Highway Dept. This is for empty trailer parking only. Unhitch & secure trailer, return to ramp parking lot for vehicle parking. Trailer parking area is 1.1 miles from ramp.
