Launched our Macgregor 26M in Hingham. Motored out of the harbor, sailed across Hingham bay, through Hull Gut, past George's Island, to Winthrop, to the Cottage Park Yacht Club.
Got to the club before the rest of the members, so I docked and took a walk to town. Strange thing...couldn't find any coffee shops open! Got a couple slices of pizza though. Walked back to the club.
Met up with Herb and Janice a couple hours later. While they got situated, had some dinner on the boat. They had dinner at the club house. Met up in the club shortly after.. chatted a bit.. .Later we noticed there were people in the bowling alley in the club (yes they have 4 lanes!). Herb went to the bar and rented the lane for the night.. had a great time..bowled 2 sets. went back to the boat to get a good nites sleep for the sail tomorrow.
Here is a short video of Herb Bowling (click here)!
Early Saturday... left the club, motored out to Boston harbor.. no wind.. motored some more.. still no wind.. past Boston Light.. still no wind! Motoed a bit more..heading to Cohasset.. FINALLY got some wind!. Sailed a bit .. headed to Cohasset Harbor.. motored to the sand bar while it was almost low tide..so we could allow the boats to get beached on the sandbar. had a good time walking around the sanbar.

Had some dinner,, more chatting.. had a good nites sleep.. wanted to get an early start to beat the weather.. had rain predicted..
got up Sunday.. to some sprinkles.. got started early.. headed out of Cohasset.. motored back to Hingham. Had some light showers..but no downpours..thank goodness...didnt have any decent rain gear on this boat..
Showers let up as we got to the dock in Hingham.. pulled the boat out.. unstepped the mast.. virtually rain free.....
great weekend..other than a damp Sunday.. but it didn't dampen the good time!
